One of the biggest issues for college students is saving money. Sometimes the issue isn’t even saving money; it’s having enough money in general to pay for what they need. What makes this tricky is the limited time available for students to work so the ability to bring in more money is usually not an option.

You have to think of September as a positive thing rather than something that annoys you. September is a beautiful month. The weather is still nice and there is a good amount of time before the holidays that you can solely focus on school.

The good thing is you have option to attend a traditional school as well as take a few classes online, or you can go the other way and attend an online university. Whichever your choice is, make sure it is one that makes you happy.

Your freshman year is the best time to know your professors and develop a great student-professor relationship. E-mail them with questions and things you enjoyed in their classes. You are not brown-nosing them, you are just letting them know you have been paying attention and truly care about your education.

Students today are much more tech savvy than ten or twenty years ago. Students now need these resources to stay connected in the “now” world we live in. Without connection to other students, professors, bosses, news, etc, our world and successes would crumble at our fingertips; literally.

Academic advisors know the ins and outs of college classes and potential jobs. They are like your golden coin throughout college and should be used at any time you need them. Going through college without their guidance could have some serious consequences like taking classes you don’t need or missing some opportunities.
